Melissa M. "May" Pointer, 65, of Lansingburgh formerly of Brooklyn, NY, passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2016.
Born and educated in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late James and Marie Summerville Pointer.
Miss. Pointer had been employed at Star & Strand Transportation Co. in Lansingburgh.
She loved to play Bingo and her family.
Devoted mother of Marie (James) Beard of Washingtonville, NY, Josette Purvis of Bronx, NY, and Precious Pointer of Troy, sister of Raheem Shabazz, Merlin Pointer, Patricia (late Emmanuel) Goodwin and Myrtle Pointer, cherished grandmother of Tiffany Beard, Vanessa Beard, Zamara Williams, Chantel Beard, Xavier Pointer and Sanyiah Pointer, adored great grandmother of Karismah, also survived by a host of relatives and friends.
There will be no public services.
Private funeral arrangements have been entrusted by the family to the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue (Corner of 115th Street in Lansingburgh), Troy, NY 12182.
