Obituary of Keith Francis Duerr

Keith Francis Duerr, 73, of Clifton Park, NY, formally of Westerly, RI, passed away September 20, 2020 at Ellis Hospital, Schnectady, NY after a ten year battle with Alpha Trypsin Enzyme deficiency. He was the son of the late Leland F. Duerr and Eleanor Grinsell Duerr, and brother to Donna L. Weissman and Lorraine Scrivano. He attended LaSalle Academy in Providence, RI, graduated from the University of Rhode Island and did graduate work at George Mason University. After a career spanning twenty years in defense contracting, he changed his path becoming a Telehealth Consultant working for the USAF and many remote access clients. Besides work, he pursued an interest in civic affairs and served on the Assessment Board of Review, and the School Committee in Westerly RI. He was an avid photographer; sang in a barbershop group, played piano and organ and studied voice. He wrote and had published several letters in the New York Times; played baseball and loved the New York Yankees. He is survived by his wife of thirty-seven years, Mary DiStefano Duerr, his stepdaughter, Conan and husband Michael Helein, all of Clifton Park, NY; his son Anthony C. Duerr of Florida and five grandchildren. No memorial services are scheduled at this time. A private ceremony will be held at a later date.
