I am truly sorry to hear about the passing of Chuck. I will always remember him as a passionate baseball coach back in the 1980's and a kind man. My condolences go out to the family and know that you are all in my prayers.

Chuck was a friend and a mentor to me when I first came to KAPL in 1988. He was full of funny sayings and helped to keep the atmosphere in the office lighthearted during times of stress. We shared a common love of baseball and he delighted to speak of his sons and grandsons and coaching of Little League baseball. When one of my sons was born in early August, he said "Steve, that is a perfect age for Little League - he will be one of the oldest players for his age level." He was a true gentleman and a friend to all and had a very productive career at the Lab, authoring over 200 letters during his career. My heartfelt prayers and condolences to the family in the loss of a true and kind friend. Psalm 23:1-6

Fond memories of Chuck - Starting to work at KAPL in 1976, Chuck was one of 1st persons that connected with me on a personal level to help the 'kid' in the office. Chuck didn't even work with me, we were in an office that had overflow from various groups. Within a couple weeks I needed to see a dentist bad (a tooth came apart). What to do? Being from out of the area, I was still figuring out the commute to work. Chuck sent me to his dentist (whom I still use today). What a huge help from a nice guy! Chuck even had me over to his house for a meal and met Nancy. What nice people!
Hearing of Chuck's passing tugs at my heart.

Eric, Ken and Steve,
Your father was a great friend of ours and we are saddened by the news of his passing away. After he retired from KAPL, Chuck got heavily involved in playing duplicate bridge and became a silver life master before he stopped playing bridge. He leaves many of his bridge playing friends behind; they hold the same fond memories of Chuck that we do. I helped him get his life master status. I still remember his coming to Myrtle Beach and staying with us here where we spend our Winters.
