Obituary of Willie F. Chapman, Jr.

Willie F. “Boober” Chapman, Jr., 53, of Troy, beloved son of Lillian Chapman and Willie F. (Monique) Chapman, Sr., peacefully entered into eternal life on Sunday, June 5, 2022 at Samaritan Hospital in Troy.

Born in Albany, New York, he was a graduate of Albany High School.

Willie was affectionately known as “Boober” and loved music, which led him to being a Disc Jockey “DJ” where he was known as “DJ Ill Will” and “DJ Will Boogie”

Willie loved his Adidas sneakers and hats. He was passionate about music and loved Run DMC.

Willie was all about being around his family and in particular his two nephews, Zion and Zayvion, who he loved chillin’ with and taking care of.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his siblings; Anita Chapman, Celeste Chapman-Stratton, Lillian Smith, Tamika Chapman, Patricia (Vuntrel) Foster, Daniel (Milissa) Tucker, Preston Cade, Justin Mallory, Ahmad Chapman and Julius Chapman, also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces nephews, cousins and their families.

Relatives and friends are invited to visitation on Thursday, June 16, 2022 from 10 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and to the Home Going Service at 11:00 a.m. both at Bethel Baptist Church, 2165 Fifth Avenue, Troy, New York 12180.

Interment will follow in Elmwood Hill Cemetery, Troy.
