Obituary of Donald J. Bishop, Esq.

Donald J. Bishop, 70, of Via Marchella, passed away peacefully on Wednesday Sept. 22, 2022 at his home in the loving care of his family. He was born on Dec. 25, 1951 in Melrose, MA. and was the son of Russell and Constance McDermott Bishop. Don was a graduate of Westwood High School in Westwood, MA, The University of Massachusetts, and Albany Law School. Don had been an attorney in the New York State Office of General Services Counsels Office. He was a member of the New York State Bar Association and was an active member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Albany. He served on the Board of Vestry and the Episcopal Counsel Services in Albany. He had also been with the NYS Safety and Health Counsel.
He was the beloved husband of Antoinette Barba Bishop, whom he married on Sept. 1, 1984; devoted father of Andrea L. (James) Dabney of CA and James R. Bishop of Guilderland, NY; brother of Brian (Laurie) Bishop, Alan (Emily) Bishop, David (Cova) Bishop and Julie (David) Winton; also survived by several nieces and nephews. Don was anxiously awaiting the birth of his first granddaughter.
Funeral services are private and at the convenience of the family from the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc. 565 4th. Avenue Troy, NY 12182
Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands, NY.
