Oh, I'm so sorry I'm just seeing this. I would have prepared better to be able to attend the wake before going to a rehearsal dinner. Mrs. Lapointe was a great teacher & I enjoyed meeting her at different events over the years. She's probably hanging out with Fr. Turbul.
May her memory be eternal. Wishing the family my condolences.
God Bless, Erika

Mrs. LaPointe was a wonderful, wise and caring person. I can hear her distinct voice in my head right now.
I’ll never forget my first interaction with her. She was doing roll call for the first class at CCHS … it was a large class and I’d made the mistake of sitting way in the back. I just knew she was going to mess up my name as every other teacher did the first time they saw it, so I was dreading have to correct her from the back of the room.
She said it correctly!
Flabbergasted, I went up to her after that first class to ask her how she was able to be the first teacher ever to get it right.
She explained that she’d reviewed the class list the night before, didn’t want to screw it up, so found another teacher who taught her how to say it.
Another time I was in their family pool with her and good friend Jon, her son, and she saved me from embarrassment yet also taught me a lesson with an incredibly thoughtful comment.
What a wise and caring person!

I used to minister with Mrs. LaPointe at St. Francis parish, and she was one of my teachers at CCHS. It was nice to visit with her on Facebook in later years, and to hear about Joseph. My deepest sympathy to her family. Hers was a left well-lived.

Dear LaPointe family,
I am deeply saddened to read of the passing of your dear Virginia—Ginny to so many of us. I have known Ginny for over 40 years, as a co-worker teaching at Catholic Central High School and as a friend. After her retirement, she and her cronies would come to lunch at the Provincial House and visit with many former faculty members. One could never understand the conversation at the table because everyone talked at once—including Ginny—no kidding. The last I saw her was just before she moved to Pennsylvania. Thanks for your friendship, the laughs and so many happy memories of our days at CCHS, Ginny. Rest In Peace Ginny. Love you my friend.
Sister Anne Stephen

My dear friend,
You were the best of friends! A wonderful mom, a devoted spouse, the best of teachers, a loyal friend and always there! You were a true daughter of the Blessed Virgin, and you, Fr. Turnbull and myself enjoyed all that friendship could be. Thank you for over fifty years of living and loving and always making me feel welcomed. I will miss you but I know that one day we will be United in
That great reunion. Please say hello to my mom and Fr. Turnbull for me. Until we meet again! Love always, Ron
