Obituary of Diana T. Alessandro
Diana T. Alessandro, 82, of Clifton Park, beloved wife for 57 years to Peter P. Alessandro, peacefully passed away on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at Saratoga Hospital.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Carmella Taranto Vitto and graduated Bay Ridge High School where she earned both an Academic and Commercial Diploma and continued her education at Brooklyn College.
Mrs. Alessandro had been employed in the Clifton Park Town Clerk’s office and had also been employed by the NYS Dept. of Motor Vehicles in Clifton Park and Ballston Spa, NY.
Diana loved to and was known as an exceptional cook (especially Italian). She loved traveling especially to the Dominican Republic and Disney, was artistic, an excellent painter and loved making beautiful ceramic items. She also enjoyed the camaraderie of her friends when they got together for bridge, pinochle and mahjong. She and Peter also enjoyed the company of their friends with the Gourmet Club. She was an avid NY Yankees fan and also loved watching Hallmark Channel movies.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 57 years Peter, her devoted daughter Christina (Michael ) Roche of Palmetto Bay, Florida, her cherished grandchildren, Joseph and Anna Roche, her loving sister Janet (late, Charles) Anderson of Jackson, New Jersey, as well as her loving nieces, nephews, cousins and their families. Diana was predeceased by her infant son Peter Paul Alessandro, II.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, December 8, 2023 from 4 to 7 p.m. and on Saturday, December 9, 2023 from 1-4 pm in the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Rt. 9 Clifton Park, NY 12065.
A memorial service will be held in the Chapel at Coburg Village in the near future.
Diana’s family would like to express their sincere appreciation and gratitude to the medical staff of Saratoga Hospital for their efforts to save her.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you plant a tree in Diana’s memory.
