Obituary of Camile A. Rezek

Please share a memory of Camile to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Camile A. Rezek, 65, of Troy, beloved husband of his bride for over 42 years, Norma Rezek, peacefully passed into eternal peace surrounded and in the loving care and comfort of the heavy hearts of his family on Tuesday, July 2, 2024.

Born in Hilan Zagharta, Lebanon, he was the son of the late Antonios and Tamam Rezek and as a young man came to Troy in 1965. He was educated in the Troy schools, graduated from Troy High School and Hudson Valley Community College.

Camile was born to be an entrepreneur and was successful at that; providing for his family and those within his community and circle of friends. You could always count on Camile to be there for you. He was self employed and served as President, Owner & Operator of his Auto Sales and Real Estate empire.  He served as a landlord to many people and families as well as to many business operators. Camile was a man of great knowledge across many spectrums and used that to be a respected and successful businessman and was always willing to share any of that knowledge with those who looked to become business owners or better themselves.

Camile loved fishing, hunting, playing cards in general, particularly Gin-Rummy, the New York Yankees, attending games at Yankee Stadium and was a communicant of St. George Antiochan Orthodox Church in Albany where he served in several capacities as well as President of the Parish Council.

Camile was proud of his Lebanese heritage and was also so proud to be an American and a Trojan.

Beloved husband of Norma, devoted father of Kristin Rezek and Justin Rezek, loving brother of Nazir (Maria) Rezek, Zahra (Hassib) Tleiji, the late Bassir (wife, Nefnafe) Rezek, the late Michael (wife, Adele) Rizk, the late Mounir (late, Novaline) Rizk, also survived by nephew Michael Rezek, niece Linda Rezek, Aunt Lemia, several nieces, nephews and their families and many friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Calling Hours on Sunday, July 7, 2024 from 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue (at the corner of 115th Street in Lansingburgh) Troy, NY 12182.

Funeral procession will depart Monday morning at 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home thence to St. George Antiochan Orthodox Church, 1 St. George Pl., Albany, NY 12202 where the funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. by Father John Vazquez and Father Thomas Zain.

Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Troy.
