Obituary of John E. Baldwin, Jr.

John E. Baldwin, Jr., 65 of Hollandale Lane, died on Monday Sept. 11, 2017 at the Wesley Health Care Center in Saratoga after a long illness.  He was born in Albany, NY on August 12, 1952 and was the son of the late John E. and Ruth Dowen Baldwin, Sr.  John was educated in the Albany School system and was a US Navy veteran having served honorably during the Vietnam Era.  He retired in 2011 after 30 years of service with the Samuel S. Stratton Medical Center in Albany as a supervisor.  He was dedicated to his fellow veterans and all veteran organizations.  John was a Notre Dame and Miami Dolphins fan. He enjoyed his many visits to the Saratoga Race Track.  Most recently during this past meet.

He is the beloved husband of Linda C. Bacon Baldwin, whom he married on May 7, 1972.  He is the devoted father of James J. (Karen) Baldwin of Goose Creek, SC and Kalonie L. (Robert Carey) Baldwin of Clifton Park, NY; brother of Charles Baldwin, Diane Baldwin, Patricia Kettlewood, Robin Apisa, Thomas Baldwin and the late Christine Kosa and Anne Arroyo; cherished grandfather of Jacquelyn (Matt), Taylor, Katelyn, Dillon and Connor; he is the dear friend of Arland Johnson and Shaun Katz; his special feline companion “Bailey”  and several nieces and nephews also survive. 

Funeral will be held on Friday evening at 7:00 pm in the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Rt. 9 in Clifton Park, NY 12065.

Calling hours will be from 4-8 pm Friday in the funeral home.

Interment with full military honors will be in the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY
