Obituary of Ruth E. Ellsworth
Ruth E. Ellsworth, 93 of Halfmoon, peacefully passed away surrounded by her family on Saturday, October 14, 2017.
Born in Harrisville, NH, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Florence Babb Blair and the beloved wife of 62 years of James S. Ellsworth who passed away on April 8, 2002.
Mrs. Ellsworth was a homemaker having raised her six children and was proud of each one of them and their families. She was a music lover, a food connoisseur who liked to eat and to run when she was younger. She would let you know that she would "run like the wind".
Being the matriarch of five generations of her family, she especially enjoyed the times spent with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and their families.
Devoted mother of James J. (Shirley) Ellsworth of Round Lake, Daniel (Johanna) Ellsworth of Atlanta, GA, Michael (Debbie) Ellsworth of Boynton Beach, FL, Patrick (Linda) Ellsworth of Elizabethtown, Jacqueline (John) Disonell and Bonnie (Lloyd) Ratalsky, both of Halfmoon, proud and cherished grandmother, great grandmother,
great-great grandmother, also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her four brothers and two sisters.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 RT-9, Clifton Park, NY 12065 on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and to her Celebration of Life which will be offered that evening in the funeral home beginning at 7:00 p.m.
A committal service and burial will be held at Memory's Garden in Colonie on Thursday morning at 10:00 a.m.
Those desiring, may make memorial contributions to the Shriners Hospital For Children, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104 or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Attn: Memorial/Honor Program, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, in memory of Ruth E. Ellsworth.
