Obituary of Richard L. Konsella

Richard L. Konsella, 79, of Clifton Park, passed away at his residence on Wednesday October 25, 2017.  Born in Klamath Falls, OR, Richard was a proud Oregon State Alumnus.  Richard was a licensed Professional Engineer who retired from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation in 1997.  During his 32 year career, he was Chief of the Flood Control Projects Section in the Division of Water for the NYSDEC, and helped coordinate the construction and maintenance of numerous flood control projects throughout NY State. 

Richard was the original owner of a red 1967 GTO convertible, and was a long time member of the Electric City GTO car club. 

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Sandra (Kraft) Konsella, his daughter, Mia Konsella, his son, Jeffrey Konsella, daughter-in-law Suellen, and his grandchildren Nicholas, Samantha, and Jacob Ganey.

A memorial service will be held at 2 pm Sunday November 5th at the Shenendehowa United Methodist Church, 971 Rt. 146, Clifton Park, NY 12065..

Richard was a former volunteer at the Shenendehowa Helping Hands Food Pantry. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Richard would be appreciated to the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern NY, 965 Albany Shaker Road Latham NY 12110.
