Obituary of Delbert V. Browne, Jr.
Delbert V. "Del" Browne, Jr., 71, of Clifton Park, peacefully entered into eternal life surrounded by his family on Saturday, December 23, 2017, at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's in Albany.
Born in Albany, he was the son of the late Delbert V. and Helen Semplenski Browne, Sr., and was predeceased by his wife Elinor Browne. He was a graduate of Vincentian Institute, Class of 1964 in Albany and attended Siena College in Loudonville.
Del retired 15 years ago from the New York State Education Department in Albany where he had been an Accountant for 35 years.
He was a former member of the Harris Bay Yacht Club in Lake George and was a member of the Friends of the Clifton Park-Halfmoon Public Library.
Beloved husband of Kathleen A. "Kathy" Humphreys Browne of Clifton Park, devoted father of Gregory "Greg" (Tina) Browne of Clifton Park, Nicole (Scott) Batchelder of Clifton Park, Michelle (Richard) Minnis, brother of Martin Browne (Sue Hammerle) of Guilderland and Christine "Tina" Grant of Albany, cherished grandfather of Ashley Browne, Brent Bauerschmidt, Matthew Batchelder, Nicholas Batchelder and Jake Batchelder, GM2 Alex Minnis, US Navy, Josh Minnis, and Grace Minnis, who are survived by grandmother Susan Borsh, also survived by 6 step grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Crescent, 86 Church Hill Rd., Waterford, NY 12188.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 RT-9 Clifton Park, NY 12065 on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Interment will be held Thursday morning at 10:00 a.m. at Memory's Garden in Colonie.
