Obituary of Francis John Zovistoski
Francis “Frank” “Zeke” John Zovistoski, 80, of Hoosick Road died on Monday Jan. 8, 2018 at St. Peter’s Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany after a brief illness. He was born in Granville, NY on Dec. 13, 1937 and was the son of the late Edward and Rose Grodecki Zovistoski. He was a graduate of Granville High School and had attended Adirondack Community College. Frank was the beloved husband of Bertha Gallup Zovistoski, whom he married on Sept. 13, 1958. He moved from Granville in 1979 to Center Brunswick where he has resided ever since. He was currently a driver for the Meals on Wheels Program for Rensselaer County, serving the community for the past 14 years. Earlier, Frank had been a computer programmer for Petricca Construction in Pittsfield, MA, Tagsons Paper Co. in Menands, NY and also Warren County. He was a proud member of the United Commercial Travelers (UCT) for more than 40 years, holding many of the offices during his membership. Frank enjoyed gardening, hunting with his son Jeff and bowling. He was a member of the Troy Bowling Association and the Mix and Match Bowling League in Green Island. He enjoyed a game of chance and was a frequent visitor of the Racino in Saratoga.
Survivors in addition to his beloved wife Bertha, include his devoted children, Susan (Daniel) Vaughan of Knoxville, TN, F. Michael (Pamela) Zovistoski, of Niskayuna, Mary Zovistoski of Clayton, NY and Jeffrey (Kelly) Zovistoski of Brunswick; brother of Henrietta Billow of South Shaftsbury, VT, Bernard Zovistoski of Sahuarita , AZ, Paul Zovistoski of N. Granville, NY and the late Edward, Thomas and Mary Joanne Zovistoski; cherished grandfather of Rebecca (Kurt) Kluberdanz, Jonathan (Kristy) Zovistoski, Michael Zovistoski, Zachary Zovistoski, Melissa Boss, Jeffrey Zovistoski, Jr, Lori (David) Lewis and Daniel Hardy; great grandfather of Dylan and Lucy Lewis. Frank was anxiously awaiting the arrival of his 3rd great grandson Zovistoski; also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral will be held on Saturday, Jan. 13th at 1:00 pm at St. Augustine’s Church in Lansingburgh, where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Saturday morning from 10:00 am - 12:30 pm in the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc. cor. of 115th. Street & 4th. Avenue in Lansingburgh prior to the mass.
