Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Matthew 5:16

The Love of Auntie Matilda will always be a source of gentle, enduring strength for me. She had a brand of love that would suffice to hold you calm during some of the most tumultuous times of your life. Her love held me for most of my worst ones. She was the last remaining remnant of my late mother's, Arrie L.Fortner memories- serving to bridge the gaps, when they seemed so wide. I miss her so much, our laughter rings on in my heart. I pray that as a family we find strength in God to know that family must bond and bind together to survive. I will cherish the words of wisdom, love, and encouragement she would whisper in my ear, with hugs that would push you forward in life on a journey both fearful and unknown. Auntie Matilda held her head upright and didn't settle in life. A hardworking soul that fought a "good fight" despite any battle, she encouraged others to do the best you can and strive for what it is you want. Family meant everything to her, and fun in life her motto. Losing her breaks my heart, but her words at our last meeting hold fast during this storm. I will always love you and like you said Auntie,
"I'll do my best to see you again, but if I can't, if won't be because I didn't try. If I don't see you,no matter what.. you know where I'll be. You'll know. I love you." I love you too Auntie Matilda. Rest Easy.
