Obituary of Mary Ellen Sweeney Perrott

Mary Ellen Sweeney Perrott, 68, of Halfmoon and formerly of Speigletown,  died on Wednesday August 15, 2018 at Samaritan Hospital in Troy surrounded and in the comfort of her loving family.  Mary Ellen was born on Nov. 23, 1949 in Troy, NY and was the daughter of the late John J. and Mary Chaderjian Sweeney.  She was a graduate of Lansingburgh High School and Putnam Memorial Hospital, School of Nursing, in Bennington, VT.  She had been a licensed Practical Nurse, having worked for Conifer Park in Glenville for more than 25 years.   She most enjoyed tending to her flower gardens, waiting for the bluebirds to arrive in March, hosting Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve and famously knitting beautiful blankets for family and friends.

She is the beloved mother of Jennifer (Jodi Dorrough) Perrott of Clifton Park, NY and Michael (Jessica) Perrott of Loudonville, NY; devoted sister of Lauren Sweeney of Halfmoon, NY and Hon. John E. Sweeney of Clifton Park, NY; cherished grandmother of Michael Torres, Ryan Perrott and Anna Perrott; aunt of Kelly Cyr, John J. Sweeney, Mary P. Sweeney, Julia L. Sweeney and Colin J. Sweeney.

Funeral will be held on Monday at 9:00 am in the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Rt. 9 Clifton Park NY 12065.

Calling hours will be from 2-7 pm Sunday in the funeral home.

Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Troy, NY
