Obituary of Eileen O'Rourke

Eileen O'Rourke, 94, of Cohoes, formerly of Lansingburgh, beloved wife of the late Alfred J. O'Rourke, entered into eternal life on Sunday, January 6, 2019.

Born in Cohoes, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Helen Forman Agars and the stepdaughter of Elizabeth Agars and was educated at CCHS.

Mrs. O'Rourke retired in June 1986 from C.E.O. (Commission on Economic Opportunity) in Troy.

Eileen was a lifelong communicant of St. Augustine’s Church in Lansingburgh where she was also a member of the Choir, Sacred Heart Sodality and Our Mother of Good Counsel.

Devoted mother of Ann J. (Joseph) Servidone of East Greenbush, William (Carol) Rielly of Troy, Frances (the late Fred) Cesta of Troy, Joseph (Dottie) Rielly of Mechanicville, Marilyn (Michael Coleman) Arco of Halfmoon, Kathleen (James) Sullivan of Melrose, Herman  Lockrow of Averill Park and the late Terry "Tee" Murrisky and the late M. Allen (late, Maria) Lockrow; sister of Lynn Darmetko, Elizabeth Burnside, Joseph Agars, Ann Treacy, Timothy (Colleen) Agars and the late Mildred (Wallace) Knights, cherished grandmother of Debra McClune, Robin Gillespie, Paula Brearton, Erin Hostetler, Colleen Gidley, William, Rielly, Michael Rielly, Melissa Brod, Carissa Ciccarelli, Alyssa Wilson, Kristy Canalda, Taylor Sullivan, Teryn Lockrow, Tyler Lockrow, Nicole Lockrow, Amy Harp and the late Joseph Rielly, Joel Rielly and Josh Rielly, adored great grandmother of Ashlee McGovern, Sonja Rielly, Audrey Rielly, Brittany Grande, Violet Hostetler, Kylie Hostetler, Connor Terrell, Chloe Gidley, Ciera Gidley, Joe Rielly, Julia Rielly, Shyla Wolf, Amore Charland, Olivia Charland, Stella Canalda, Ricardo Canalda, Tia Harp, Austin Brod and Christopher Eich and the Aunt of Sherry Rounds. 

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Augustine’s Church in Lansingburgh.

Calling hours will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc. 565 Fourth Ave, (Corner of 115th St. in Lansingburgh) Troy, NY 12182.

Interment will be held in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Colonie.

The family would like to thank all the staff at Eddy Village Green, especially House #3, for all the love and care they provided over the past 8 1/2 years. We would also like to thank Hospice for all of their support.
